Diabetes

Diabetesbehandling.no is a tool by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim for medical doctors to select the best treatment regimen for patients suffering from diabetes.

With the large number of novel antidiabetic drugs lunched in the last years, it is difficult for medical doctors to keep up to date. This tool also allows them to enter data on kidney function and cardiovascular disease to avoid drugs that might be contra indicated.

Takster

Takster is a tool for GPs to help select the most correct codes for billing patients and the government health authorities.

The billing system for GPs in Norway is complicated and updated regularly, especially during the covid pandemic. By using this tool, available as a mobile app, the GPs can easily navigate the billing codes and select the correct codes for a given consultation.

Covid-19

At the onset of the pandemic in Norway in 2020, we drummed up a simple tool for making heads and tails of the ever-changing algorithms governing whether to quarantine, test or self isolate.

By completing a very simple, guided questionnaire, the users could obtain information relevant to their situation and avoid information overload.

The project, Koronasjekk.no, was developed pro-bono with MedEasy Group AS and later transferred to the Norwegian Health Authorities free of charge.

Diagnostic image analysis

Dr. Sigve Holmen developed a suite of image analysis software for the automated diagnosis of female genital schistosomiasis.

This software has been used in a number of research projects, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Merck, University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital.

The software is open source and available on GitHub.

Nils Christian is a medical doctor with a flare for entrepreneurship. He conceptualised the teaching platform MedEasy and the app Takster.
